Annual Book Sale

Restock your reading shelves for spring and summer at the Friends of the Sherborn Library Annual Book Sale!

Join us Friday, March 22, from 5-8pm for first dibs on this year’s books. A $10 entrance fee gets you early access on Friday evening.

The Book Sale continues Saturday and Sunday, which is free and open to all. Browse hundreds of books of all genres and for all ages.

When:

  • Friday, March 22, 5pm-8pm [$10 entrance fee]

  • Saturday, March 23, 10am-5pm

  • Sunday, March 24, 10am-3pm

Where: Sherborn Library Community Room (lower level)

 

Book Donations

The Friends of the Sherborn Library are collecting donations of gently used books for its upcoming Book Sale,. Donations can be dropped off in box(es) at the Sherborn Library from February 26 until March 18 during regular Library hours.

PLEASE NOTE: We can only accept donations of books in good condition, meaning they are free of mold, water damage, or generally unreadable in quality. Unfortunately we cannot accept encyclopedias, textbooks over 10 years old, magazines/journals, comic books, audio cassettes, VHS tapes, CDs or DVDs.

Winterfest

Friends of the Sherborn Library invites you to Winterfest, a fun, winter-themed event for kids on Saturday, February 10th from 10am to 12pm.

This event has something for everyone! Join us for a Frozen sing-a-long and dance with The Snow Sisters, Anna and Elsa. There will also be face painting and cafts. We can’t wait to see you!

Summer Concert Series: The Wolff Sisters

The Friends of the Sherborn Library looks forward to the 2023 Summer Concert Series. Enjoy a different musical group each week on Wednesdays. The concert will feature The Wolff Sisters. Food will be available from Kona Ice and ThankQue.

The Wolff Sisters: The Wolff Sisters is fronted by three sisters -- Rebecca on acoustic guitar, Kat on the keys, Rachael on electric guitar, and all three on lead vocals and harmonies. Raised on Bob Dylan, The Band, and Little Feat, the sisters crafted their sound around a honky tonk piano in the living room of their childhood home. With a talented cast of rotating drummers and bass players, The Wolff Sisters are a rag tag group of hardworking individuals that bring a big sound and timeless songs. Their music is honest and genre defying, but still rooted in traditional rock and Americana storytelling. The Squeezebox Stompers: The Squeezebox Stompers are a Boston area Americana Roots band. They have performed Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Folk, and originals all over New England for the past 15 years. Members of the band have received Boston Music Awards and Songwriting Awards. They are noted for their step-lively up-beat music inspiring audiences to get up and dance.  Their instrumentation includes accordion, keyboards, fiddle, saxophone, harmonica, penny whistle, guitar, bass, and drums. They guarantee a Rockin' good time at   family- friendly outdoor events, clubs, dances, or private parties. The Moore Brothers Band: The Moore Brothers Band, Doug Moore on guitar and vocals, George Moore on bass and vocals and Pete Premo on drums, brings a hard-to-top pedigree to the stage. The band features founders and members of some of the area's most revered bands: Tornado Alley, Wilbur and the Dukes, Bruce Marshall, James Montgomery, Group Therapy and John Cate. Women in World Jazz: Come join Women in World Jazz for a summer outdoor concert! All music is multicultural, diverse, exclusively written and performed  by women, and family friendly. 

Women In World Jazz brings together women of different nationalities with extensive experience in performance and education. The music is easy to relate to, diverse and engaging. All members of the group are accomplished musicians playing a variety of music ranging from Jazz to world/ethnic. Our international roster directly influences the choice of repertoire.

Trivia Night

Join us for TRIVIA NIGHT! Do you have what it takes to be Sherborn’s trivia champion?

Bring your A-game on Saturday, April 1 to the Sherborn Community Center. We’re serving dinner catered by Blue Ribbon BBQ, beer, wine, and other refreshments, including delicious cider generously donated by Stormalong. Doors open at 7pm, trivia begins at 7:30pm.

Compete for the grand prize: a wine tasting for 10 people! The wine tasting is generously hosted by Heritage Wine & Provisions.

Come with a team or come individually. Tickets are are $75.00 per person. Large groups can purchase a full table (10 people).

Winterfest

Celebrate Winterfest 2023 with a live reptile show from The Joys of Nature and themed arts & crafts. Programming is geared toward children elementary school aged and younger. Registration is required for all children attending - please register below.

The Joys of Nature will be doing a program about Reptiles in Winter Around the World, including live animals! Winter is cold in New England, but not everywhere! Learn how animals survive freezing temperatures, floods or other winter challenges in different parts of the world. Who is active and outside? Who is sleeping or hiding? Who is freezing?
